Both Cal and UCSB dropped a few spots in the Week 9 CWPA poll.
While USC holds firmly on the top spot, there was some movement in the top 10 in the CWPA Week 9 poll. Eight of the top 10 spots are different this week from last week. After being ranked No. 2, UCSB has lost three of four games and has tumbled to the fifth spot. They dropped two spots from last week's poll after falling 11-7 to Pepperdine. That result helped Pepperdine move up two spots to now be ranked No. 4.
A shocking result from this past week that affected the polls was Cal falling to Long Beach State 11-10 this past week. Cal fell one spot to No. 6, while Long Beach State moved up two spots and is now tied for seventh with Pacific.
