CWPA Eastern Championships: Bucknell takes on St. Francis

The NCAA tournament berth for the CWPA is on the line when Bucknell takes on St. Francis in the title game.

The CWPA title game features the top seed from both the North and South divisions, as St. Francis will be taking on Bucknell.

St. Francis made it to the title game by just getting past upstart Mercyhurst, 12-11, and they were led by Vuk Vujosevic and Marko Gencic who combined for nine of the teams 12 goals. Mercyhurst nearly got the upset win as they were leading St. Francis 9-5 late in the third quarter, but then St. Francis mounted their comeback to get the win.

This will be St. Francis' sixth Eastern title game appearance, and they will be looking for their third title.

Bucknell has had a tough time in both of their Eastern games this weekend. They escaped past Harvard, 15-13, in the opening round, and then got past Princeton 7-6. Bucknell got a goal from freshman Stefan Aleksic with 1:37 left to defeat host Princeton to advance to the title game.

This is Bucknell's first title game appearance since 1993, and if Bucknell wins they will have claimed their sixth Eastern title.

These two teams have played each other twice this year, and St. Francis has won both of those matchups by one goal each. The way this Eastern tournament has been going down, this game should be very exciting.
