Morning Drive: Players Of The Week Announced

Beck, Thomas, Nugent Earn Weekly Water Polo Honors -
Senior co-captain Chelsea Beck (Wagner) amassed an impressive 16 total points for Wagner at the CWPA/MAAC Crossover this past weekend.

Rebecca Thomas (Marist) continued her stellar play in net for Marist, playing all 64 minutes in the Red Foxes two games this past weekend against #16 Hartwick and #11 Indiana. She totaled 30 saves, an average of 3.75 per quarter, for the weekend and had a .566 save percentage.

Senior Chelsea Nugent (VMI), who is in her first season of collegiate water polo, put together a seven-goal performance in VMI's first-ever women's water polo contest.

Collegiate Water Polo Association : Bucknell University's Julieanne Valdes Named the February 27 Southern Division Player of the Week
Bucknell University's Julieanne Valdes (So., Miami, Fla./Gulliver Preparatory) notched 12 points and four steals at the CWPA/MAAC Crossover to earn the February 27 Women's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week honor.

Collegiate Water Polo Association : University of Maryland's Allison Campbell Named February 27 Western Division co-Player of the Week
Allison Campbell recorded nine points and 13 steals to earn recognition as the February 27 Women's Varsity Western Division co-Player of the Week. Campbell helped the Terps to a pair of Western Division victories over ranked opponents during a perfect 3-0 weekend, leading the team with six goals and 13 steals.

Collegiate Water Polo Association : Indiana University's Shae Fournier Named February 27 Western Division co-Player of the Week
Shae Fournier collected her third honor of the 2012 campaign in being named the February 27 Women's Varsity Western Division co-Player of the Week. Fournier potted 13 goals and seven assists to go with 13 steals, 11 field blocks and eight kickouts drawn in four games at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

USA Water Polo team takes dip in Newbury Park pool " Ventura County Star
Don't expect the Newbury Park High pool to be drained any time in the near future. Not after the USA Water Polo Men's National team practiced at the facility last week.

Girls water polo: O.C. all-star game moved to Friday at Ocean View (update) - OC Varsity
The annual Orange County all-star girls water polo match will be held Friday at Ocean View at 8 p.m. Katella’s Dave Mikesell and Ocean View’s Melissa Fernandez will coach the two teams.
