The Week 6 CWPA poll has a new No. 1 this week with the Maryland Terrapins taking over the top spot after they defeated the Indiana Hoosiers 9-8 this past weekend. Maryland jumps over the Michigan Wolverines who drop a spot after going 1-3 at the UC Irvine Invitational with their lone win coming against then No. 6 Hawaii Warriors, but they were blown out 13-3 to the UCLA Bruins and 14-5 to the Arizona St. Sun Devils.
I think that Michigan is not No. 2 is odd since they played a much tougher slate of games against four teams ranked in the top 10 while Indiana played only two ranked teams in Hartwick and Maryland, plus they escaped in a 9-8 win over the unranked Brown Bears.
The other movement came with the Princeton Tigers and Hartwick swapping spots at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots. Princeton went 4-0 at the CWPA/MAAC cross over tournament at their home pool.
Full poll is after the jump.
