Over at Water Polo Planet they have their own set of rankings and their Week 8 rankings are fairly similar to the latest CWPA top 20 poll. One big difference between the two polls is the Michigan Wolverines. The WPP poll drops Michigan all the way down to No. 16 which is probably more accurate than the CWPA poll.
Brown has lost six games this year and only loses against George Washington and Indiana were close as those were one point losses. The other loses came against Hartwick (21-13), Maryland (12-7), San Jose State (13-6) and Princeton (18-8). So the drop to 16 looks to appropriate since Brown is an above average team, but they are not great.
Also, putting Brown at No. 20 was a smart move as well, because beating a top-10 team should be rewarded. The other loses for Brown all came against ranked teams except for George Washington.
