The 2012 Olympic Qualifying tournament begins on Sunday April 1, but there has been a change to the schedule now that Venezuela has withdrawn from the tournament just days before it was set to begin. The reason is unknown -- or I just could not find it -- all that was said was a short statement by Ahmed El-Awadi, Executive Director of Water Polo Canada:
"There's no question that it's an unfortunate development and we're very disappointed that Venezuela is unable to participate," said Ahmed El-Awadi, Executive Director of Water Polo Canada. "But the schedule has been revised and we're ready to move ahead with what we fully expect will be an absolutely fantastic sporting event."
That means it is one less team for members of Group B to worry about, but it does not affect the tournament too much since there will be no change in schedule to the final eight which is used for placement. Plus odds of Venezuela making it into the top four was unlikely.
With Venezuela out here is the new schedule, and game numbers stayed the same so disregard if the game numbers are not in order or are missing:
