2012 CWPA Eastern Championships Projected Bracket: Michigan, Princeton Claim Top Two Spots

With the Southern and Western divisional tournaments over, now it is time to predict the seeding for the Eastern Championships. First off the winners of the South and West will be the top two seeds, and then No. 3 through No. 13 rest will be done by a committee.

Michigan won the West by defeating Hartwick 7-6 and Princeton held off Brown 9-8 to win the South, so those two schools will occupy the top two seeds. Maryland who was on track to earn the No. 1 overall seed, but they lost to Hartwick in the semifinals and then to Indiana in the third place and with that they are now at the No. 5 spot. Even though Brown gave a tough challenge to Princeton they come in at the No. 6 spot since the South is just not as strong as the West.

Here are my projected seedings:

1. Michigan Wolverines
2. Princeton Tigers
3. Indiana Hoosiers
4. Hartwick Eagles
5. Maryland Terrapins
6. Brown Bears
7. Harvard Crimson
8. Bucknell Bison
9. George Washington Colonials
10. Gannon Golden Knights
11. Notre Dame College Falcons
12. Mercyhurst Lakers
13. Salem International Tigers

The top three teams get a bye into the second round and will play only one game on Friday April 27. Here is the complete schedule for the Eastern Championships.
