The semifinals are set with Montenegro, Greece, Romania and Spain earning a bid to the 2012 London Olympic Games.
I am not fully versed on the Olympic draw if it is a random or weighted
draw, so these semifinal games could be a big deal or not really matter
toward seeding in London.
Here is Saturday's schedule for the semifinal matches:
Montenegro vs. Greece, 5:40 p.m. ET
Romania vs. Spain, 7 p.m. ET
Montenegro and Greece have already ready played once and that game saw Montenegro edging out Greece 8-7 in one of the best games of the tournament.
Greece went up 1-0, but could never hold onto or build onto that lead.
Greece died the game at 6-6 and 7-7, but their attempt to pull out a tie
fell short as their last-second goal hit the left post as time expired.
As for Spain and Romania they have not played yet int his tournament.
However, both teams have played FYR of Macedonia with Spain winning
11-7 and Romania winning 9-6, and they each played Brazil where Romania
won by 11 and Spain by 10 goals. The goal differential is zero between
common opponents, and while that is not a real indicator in who will win
in such a small sample size this game should be a close contest battle.
Also, all games will be shown on FINA TV, just hope you can stand the camera quality.
