Day 1 of the SoCal Tournament is in the books and there were a trio of upsets on Saturday. The first minor upset was when No. 14 ranked Air Force Falcons were able to upset No. 12 UC Davis 12-11 in the second round. The other upsets was when No. 6 Santa Barbara Gauchos who were able to defeat No. 3 ranked Stanford Cardinal 12-9. The final upset of the day was when No. 5 UC irvine was able to take down No. 4 Cal 13-11.
The most surprising upset was Irvine defeated Cal, mostly because Cal had been playing so well of late. They crushed Air Force 22-4 earlier in the day, and nearly upset USC last week.
